I’m Oliver, and Sprucen is my handyman and home-improvement business based in Holmfirth. I work across the Holme Valley, Huddersfield and nearby villages on repairs, practical improvements and small renovation projects.
A thoughtful approach to existing homes
I have a particular interest in older homes and the materials and details that give them character. Where it makes sense, I would rather repair, refinish or adapt a sound existing feature than replace it unnecessarily.
Careful preparation, practical solutions
Working in someone’s home calls for care and trust. I hold public liability insurance and have an Enhanced DBS check, and take time to prepare properly, communicate clearly and find practical solutions that suit the home, with care over the finish.
The kind of work I take on
Typical work includes repairs and maintenance, storage, decorating and making good, furniture and unit assembly, suitable joinery, exterior work and small renovation projects. If a job needs regulated or specialist work outside my scope, I will be straightforward about that.
